On the Cutting Edge - Chinese environmental activists

I was very proud and happy that we did this event with Pacific Environment and Asia Society. The environmental NGOs in China not only showcase the mentality of China’s post 80’s generation, but also represent a new culture, could be grassroots or fashion you may call it, that the country has never seen before.
Interview with Diana Weiping Ding

Beili and I were interviewed by Diana Ding on her show. Since I don’t have access to Channel 38, I have never seen Diana’s interviewing artist before. I was very impressed with her natural presence and smooth handling of the vibe and pulse of the show. Would really love to work with her again in the future, and honestly, I think she deserves a bigger and better platform.

In addition to the work being so wonderful in and of itself, some of the conversations and ideas that the exhibit inspired were really exciting as well. (continue reading…)
lost it

Darn it, I kept saying to myself.I never lost it at the Center, but I did today, because of the video Jim and Chihiro made. It was really beautiful, just like the first time I saw Beili’s work, I told her, “when I see the work, I see you”. The video went into her, and allowed me to have a deeper appreciation of the work, as well as the process… Can’t believe I was actually the executive producer, life is truly full of surprises…
